l An assessment will be conducted as a part of the Access to Justice Project to study the awareness level of the local communities on Justice and its machinery and to assess their justice seeking behaviour. The Civil Society Organisation (CSO) partners have been trained to conduct a questionnaire-based survey in six development blocks of the Tikamgarh district. l Few new micro-credit scames were launched during a multi-stakeholder workshop organised by NABARD and DA at the District Collectorate of Tikamgarh on 28th January as a part of Bundelkhand Knowledge Platform. The CSOs working in Bundelkhand took party in the workshop along with the Regional Rural Banks and Commercial Banks in the area. l Six new vermi-composting units are to be installed at the household level under the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-arid Tropics (ICRISAT) project l
Three new villages have been identified and
surveyed in the Babina block and a Health education Camp was held at Bajna
village under the NABARD Tribal Development Fund (TDF) for Development of
Wadi (Agri Horticulture models). |

l Under the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Micro-Enterprise Development Programme, TLA conducted a 13 days training programme on Artificial Jewellery making from 17-31 December 2010 at village Rampura and Jhansi (MEDP). The programme aims at Capacity Building of the members of the Self Help Groups (SHGs). Around 45 participants participated in the training.
l TLA
conducted training on Leadership Development and Human Resource Development
at Leh from 28-30 December 2010 for GERES, India, a branch of the French NGO
of the same name, working in Ladakh, Lahaul and Spiti (Himachal Pradesh)
.Approximately 15 people participated in the training. |

l DA and the steering committee Loktak Development Authority met in Imphal on 28 January 2011 to review the implementation of the ‘Conservation and Management of Loktak Base’ Project. The findings were based on the socio-economic aspects, institutional arrangements and result based managements. The findings and recommendations were also shared with the audience.
l DA
conducted the 4th Consultation Meeting under the "IUCN-Ecosystem for Life"
Project on 21 January 2011 to share the preliminary findings of the research
and the general direction on Food Security and Poverty in GBM Basin. The
situational analysis will take on the thematic area. The presentation was
well reviewed by stakeholders. |

l The TARA Akshar+ Programme supported by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MoHRD), Government of India, under the Saakshar Bharat Mission 2010 completed its second successful validation at two centres in Dehradun with support from SRC-Uttarakhand. The programme made 60 women literate in 45 days time with a success rate of 100 per cent. l
The interactive multimedia CD titled ‘Access to
Entitlement’ is getting pilot tested on 100 women in the Bundelkhand region.
The CD has information on Fundamental rights, Right to Information Act,
Maternity Benefit, Child Labour, Child Marriage, Equal Remuneration Act,
NREGA, FIR and National Commission for Human Rights. |
